Matt is currently a computational scientist working on CCP-EM’s integrated cryoEM processing pipeline. He earned a BS in Biology from Beloit College and worked as a synthetic organic chemist at two startup companies, Global Peptide Services (Fort Collins, CO) and Aileron Therapeutics (Cambridge, MA) before moving to the University of Washington, Seattle for a Ph. D in biochemistry. There he worked in the lab of Tamir Gonen developing methods for microcrystal electron diffraction (MicroED). He then moved to the Radford and Ranson labs at the University of Leeds as a postdoc working on structure determination of membrane proteins and amyloid fibrils before joining CCP-EM in 2020.
